The Mantis 89 Series of amps answers the demand for a heavier rock sounding amp in the Fuchs line-up. The Fuchs® Casino Series delivers the great tones and reliability that built our business into a more affordable and simpler format. While sharing the same premium parts and thanks to a simpler construction style we can bring bring these same great tones to a working professional’s budget. These amps are built by the same craftsmen as our ODS-Classic and ODS-II amps, using many of the same premium parts and suppliers. The Mantis 89 is designed to deliver the classic M-style 800 and 900 tones in standard and modified forms.
The Mantis® 89 is based on the ODS®/Casino sized chassis platform, has two channels with a shared Bass, Middle, Treble tone stack, a passive effects loop, and 4-8-16 ohm outputs and includes a 2-way foot switch for channel switching and gain boost. The two channels each feature a distinct voicing: Channel-1 is a traditional classic English 800-style tone and EQ with tons of gain on tap, cleans up easily from the guitar, and works equally well for chunky rhythm or “brown sound” lead tones. Channel-2 is a 900 style voicing which features a much higher gain structure with a more strident clipping structure for “modern rock and metal tones”. This amp also features a foot controlled preset gain boost, has both a presence and thrust control which alter the damping and voicing of the high and low end of the power amp section respectively. With four models, each available as a head, or combo, we are certain there is a Mantis Jr. model that is just right for you. Using the same design and manufacturing methods as we pioneered on our Casino series, we offer 4 watt, 20 watt, 50 watt and 100 watt models at the same boutique quality yet affordable price points as their Casino series counterparts.
The Mantis 89 is available in heads and (by special order) 112 combo format in black and crème tolex. Available in 20-50- and 100 W configurations. Includes a two way footswitch for channel and gain boost. A five year warranty is provided on everything except tubes.
